About Drawing Course:
All artwork starts with a mark on the page. On this course, we will look at how those marks lead to a final piece and how we can use drawing to create a scaffold to structure and complete a piece of work.
Who is this course for?
Specially designed and paced for beginners and busy students alike.
Returning or advanced students will be set intermediate or extension tasks to challenge and further expand their skillset.
Beginners looking for an opportunity to learn classical technique and contemporary skills.
Intermediates or advanced artists seeking a framework to explore your own style.
Those looking for a student led experience with wellbeing being placed at the heart of every class.
Designed for those looking for a college-level instruction without being reduced to data.
What can you expect?
Online: Live interactive classes where you can ask questions in real-time and access the teacher in-between classes, rather than study a downloaded video.
In-Person: Community interactive classes with access to a fully qualified art teacher to provide: demonstrations, technique tasks, art theory & historical context, as well as being on hand for 1:1 advice.
All students will receive step-by-step guides and are able to contact the tutor at any time for advice or support to complete the tasks.
Note that supplies can be included for 50% off retail price as an ‘Artist Kit’ to help students get started.

In-Person Course
What happens each week on the online course?
Weekly live online sessions which include art history & theory, technical skills and live demonstration.
Select whether to book onto the Saturday morning or Monday evening main weekly class.
Mid-Week live online Seminar to share your progress with classmates, discuss your work and receive further instruction to build your drawing skills..
Differentiated Weekly Task with a choice of three options - catered for beginners, intermediates and an extension task for returners or advanced students.
Weekly written feedback to help build confidence and improve your skill.
An opportunity for a 1:1 Tutorial at the end of the 6 week course to review your body of work and discuss the next steps in your journey as an artist.
What happens each week on the in-person course?
Weekly two hour class which include art history & theory, technical skills and live demonstration.
Tuesday evenings, 6:30pm - 8:30pm at The Flamingo Centre, BS10 5DT
Share your progress with your classmates, discuss your work, and receive 1:1 instruction from the teacher each week to build your drawing skills.
Differentiated Weekly Task with a choice of three options - catered for beginners, intermediates and an extension task for returners or advanced students.
Weekly verbal feedback to help build confidence and improve your skill.
Smaller group sizes for 1:1 interaction to review your body of work and discuss the next steps in your journey as an artist.
COVID 19 Contingency Plan for In-Person Course.
In the (hopefully unlikely) event of a further lockdown, or ‘rule of 6’ restrictions remaining in place, there would be three options for you to choose from.
1. The class will move online for the same dates and times.
You will also receive the option to join the online course’s mid-week seminar on Wednesdays 7pm – 8pm for further support to help you complete tasks from the safety of your own home. This seminar is usually exclusive for any students completing the online course, but in the event of switching to online, this will become accessible to all students.
You will also be invited to submit work for written feedback from our teacher.
2. You can choose to roll over payment of any classes cancelled or moved online to a fututre in-person course of your choice.

If you have purchased an Artist Kit which remains unused, you may return the materials for a full refund. If the Artist Kit has been used then you will be unable to request a refund for the materials, but you may keep all Step-By-Step Guides to complete tasks with the materials in your own time.
In the event of switching to online teaching, you will be emailed with further information on these changes.
