This week, we take another look at mark making and sketching. Using both Fineliner Pen & Watercolour Wash, we will explore how to create detail and drop in colour values.

 
 
 

WEEK THREE

Today, we use soft pastels on black paper, to capture light through studying interior & exterior windows.

 
 
 

WEEK FOUR

We begin our four week dive into watercolour with a look at Turner in Venice. We will have a look a perspective and tonal value to create depth.

 
 
 

WEEK FIVE

We continue our exploration with watercolour to create a sunset landscape with foliage. You will learn how to layer washes to create depth and texture. Use your own photography or use our differentiated resources.

 
 
 

WEEK SIX

This week we complete our dive into watercolours, pairing our knowledge of skies and distance to paint a sunset seascape.

 
 
 

WEEK SEVEN

We begin our look at painting contemporary landscapes with a two part artist study of Monet’s Haystack painting ‘Meules.’ This week, learn how the Impressionists created bold colourful underpaintings to solidify their use of colour.

WEEK NINE & TEN

Inspired by Eleanor Spalding, we begin your contemporary landscape. First, you will plot out your composition, learn how to abstract details and pick a colour palette to work with. Then we will experiment with brushstrokes & contrasting colour accents to create a colourful contemporary landscape. Use your own photography or our differentiated resources.
